1. The deal
Rate My Jack Russell is a free, just-for-fun site run by [Operator name β fill in SITE_OPERATOR] where terrier lovers rate dog photos, chat and crown a Best of the Week. By creating an account or posting anything, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
2. Who can join
You must be 18 or older, or have permission from a parent or guardian. One account per person, please. Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens on your account.
3. House rules
- Terriers only. Photos must show a Jack Russell or another terrier. Our automatic sniff test helps, but admins have the final say.
- Your photos only. Post only photos you took or have the right to share.
- No people. Avoid photos where people, especially children, can be identified, and never post someone else's personal information.
- Be kind. No harassment, hate speech, threats, sexual content, spam, advertising or scams.
- Animal welfare first. No content showing cruelty or harm to animals.
- Play fair. No fake accounts, vote manipulation, bots, scraping or attempts to break or overload the site.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display, resize and share it on the site and in posts promoting the site, such as "this week's winner", for as long as it stays on the site. Delete it (or your account) and we'll stop using it, apart from copies in backups that expire within [14] days.
5. Moderation
Anyone can report a photo, post or chat message with the π© button. Admins may hide or delete content, and suspend or delete accounts, that break these rules or the law. Content that gets several reports may be hidden automatically until an admin reviews it. We'll try to be fair, but moderation decisions are at our discretion.
6. Copyright complaints
If you think something on the site infringes your copyright, email [contact email β fill in CONTACT_EMAIL] with a link to the content and proof that it's yours, and we'll act promptly. [Owner: consider whether you need the take-down procedure under section 77 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002.]
7. No guarantees
The site is provided "as is" for fun. Ratings are opinions, not facts about any dog. We don't promise the site will always be available or free of errors, and the sniff test can get it wrong. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss caused by using the site or by content posted by other users.
8. Ending things
You can delete your account at any time on the My account page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, or shut down the site, with notice where reasonably possible.
9. Changes and law
We may update these terms; if the change matters, we'll post a notice and update the date above. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Nothing in them limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other law that can't be excluded.
