About Rate My Jack Russell

A tiny, joyful corner of the internet for Jack Russell and terrier lovers. Upload your pup, rate others from 1 to 5 bones, and every week the top three pups (with at least 3 votes) get crowned in the Hall of Fame.

How ranking works

We use a Pawsome score (a Bayesian average): every pup starts with a few "virtual" votes at the site average, so a single 5-bone vote can't beat a pup with twenty 4.8s. One vote per human per pup — you can change it, but you can't rate your own.

The sniff test

Every upload is checked on the server by two AI image models running locally: CLIP (zero-shot, it knows "Jack Russell terrier") and EfficientNet-Lite4 (ImageNet, 26 terrier breeds). Non-dogs and non-terrier breeds are turned away with a smile. Uploaded images are resized, converted to WebP and stripped of location metadata.
